Criteria: The Army Meritorious Unit Award (MUC, MUA) is awarded to units of the United States Army who show exceptional meritorious conduct in their performance of duties for a period of at least 6 months during conflict with an armed enemy. For acts of heroism and meritorious achievements to be recognized, they must be considered outstanding and above a certain degree of excellence. Intended to recognize those military service members who had served on active duty between September 8, 1939, and December 7, 1941.
